When I spoke with an out-of-state family member after a recent illness, she said she really appreciated getting cards. Yes, cards in the mail. She explained that she could reread them, nothing was required of her (no text or email to reply to) and she felt cherished and remembered.
With Valentine’s Day next week you may be buying cards for family and friends. This might be a good time to also thoughtfully select a few “just because”, birthday, thinking of you, get well, and sorry for your loss cards.
When you need a card, it is a real time-saver to have a few on hand.
